     《生化危機：詛咒》由前作原班人馬的神谷誠導演、菅正太郎編劇、小林裕幸制作，導入時下當紅的3D顯示與動作擷取技術，希望提供給觀看者品質更高、震撼力更強的感官體驗。將由索尼負責發行，支持3D。預定在2012年10月27日上映。此作的主角依然是《生化危機2》和《生化危機4》的男主角：裡昂。裡昂在得到東歐小國“東斯拉夫共和國”可能將生物兵器BOW投入實戰的情報後，決定隻身執行潛入任務收集情報。很快，戰局發生瞭變化，美國及其同盟國開始撤軍，裡昂也接到命令撤出東斯拉夫。然而，為瞭終止生化病毒制造的連環悲劇繼續傷害更多的無辜生命，裡昂最終決定無視命令繼續戰鬥。對裡昂來說，一場艱苦而殘酷的戰鬥將不可避免。
     繼《Biohazard生化危機》好萊塢電影版系列在全世界熱賣後，眼見一般電影觀眾，對於這類生化危機題材科幻片，依然有著高度的興趣與接受度，於是開創這《Biohazard》品牌的日本電玩公司CAPCOM，也決定親自投入電影市場，並在08年推出全3D制作，最忠於電玩原作的3D動畫電影《Biohazard：Degeneration(生化危機：惡化)》。
　　在日本三間劇院播放的電影《生化危機：惡化》在08年僅兩周的票房為4千多萬日元，之後推出的DVD及DB更賣出160多萬張。而原作同名遊戲系列自 1996開始，全球更大賣4400多萬套。從這些數字來看，《Biohazard》也絶對是受歡迎的作品。眼看《Biohazard》如此受歡迎，CAPCOM將會與Sony Pictures Entertainment再度合作，推出《生化危機：惡化》的電影續作——《Biohazard：Damnation(生化危機：詛咒)》。
