雷蒙德·斯科特的夢幻創作可以舒緩BB情绪的音, 118個月大的嬰兒,強調柔軟的合成音,重複的旋律,加入母親的心跳聲和相對簡單的安排。增强BB的注意力,記憶力

How classic is this? Finally we've managed to lay our hands on early electronic music pioneer Raymond Scott's absolutely breathtaking collection of compositions for babies and it's a pleasure to list them. I think all of us fell in love with the marvelous 'Manhattan Research' composition from a while back, but this is where Scott really came into his element.

The composer felt that there was a wide open playing field for productions to help parents lull their young offspring to sleep, and what better way to lull them to sleep than with blipping experimental electronics. It's weird hearing these 1963 compositions now having lived through decades of electronic music, no more do these sounds come across as childish or lullaby-like, instead they sound closer to the electronic compositions of the Radiophonic Workshop or fellow BASTA artist Dick Raaijmakers. I suppose it's never going to sound just like it must have back in the 60s, we've been indoctrinated by the way the sounds have been used in our lifetimes - but the very idea of playing these mysterious oscillating sounds to babies kind of fills me with wonder.

Take the album's final piece 'Tic Toc', which takes a ticking clock type sound and embellishes it with discordant wails and dissonant synthesized sounds. I would hazard a guess that these sounds might very well give your baby nightmares, but for the rest of us it is a simply breathtaking exploration into experimental electronic sound. Knowing the focus of the disc helps us to understand the occasionally lullaby structure, but this is only echoed throughout the album and doesn't in any way overpower your enjoyment. Any of you with any semblance of interest in early electronic music really can't go through life without hearing these incredible records... totally essential!
