      這部三小時的Syfy迷你劇根據羅伯特·路易斯·斯蒂文森的同名小說改編，Eddie Izzard、Elijah Wood、Donald Sutherland、Shirley Henderson、Nina Sosanya等著名演員參與演出。
      十歲大男孩Jim Hawkins（Toby Regbo扮演）與自己母親（Shirley Henderson扮演）原本鄉下經營一家旅館。直到有一天，他從來到酒店的一個垂危海盜水手Billy Bones（David Harewood扮演）手中得到一份傳說中的藏寶島，於是他在Livesey醫生（Daniel Mays扮演）的鼓勵下聯合當地鄉紳支援組織瞭一支探險隊準備前往金銀島。
　　他們的這一舉動引起瞭一群心懷不軌的海盜們的註意，陰森詭譎的獨腳海盜頭子Long John Silver（Eddie Izzard扮演）應征船上廚師，他的手下也上船充當水手。到達金銀島時，Jim遇到在荒島上獨處三年的海盜水手Ben Gunn（Elijah Wood扮演），而此時Silver則發動叛變占據帆船，而吉姆在被提上帆船危急時卻被Silver出手相救，因而跟其他海盜發生矛盾。最後Livesey醫生與Ben合作遏制住瞭海盜並也成功取得寶藏。
　　英國演員Donald Sutherland在片中扮演海盜船長Flint，而英國演員Phillip Glenister在片中扮演Smollet船長。
