劇情
　　15歲的占美在一次意外中拯救瞭海盜首領，從而得到一個球狀星空藏寶圖，發現瞭傳說中的「寶藏星球」，藏有從全宇宙一千多個星球搶奪回來的寶物，懷著好奇的阿占決心尋寶，因而展開瞭一次驚險的尋寶之旅。旅程中占美不但遇到各種新奇有趣的事物及認識各樣前所未見的航天員物，更與飛船上的夥頭史約翰、魔飛建立瞭一段難得的友誼，一起駕著飛船沖破殞石群、越過時間黑洞，更認識瞭笑料百出的機械人阿BEN。可是一天占美卻發現身邊最可靠的朋友史約翰原來是一名陰險的太空海盜，遂展開一段段正邪激鬥。而且原來一直被埋藏的寶物還有一個意想不到的驚人秘密……

幕後制作
　　《星銀島》是迪士尼公司推出的第42部經典動畫電影。取材自18世紀著名兒童讀物作家，羅伯·路易絲·史蒂文森(Robert Louis Stevenson)的世界名著——《金銀島》(Treasure Island)。不過不同於原著《金銀島》的是，這部《星銀島》要將整個故事挪進充滿夢幻色彩的星際太空。
　　擔任導演和劇本改編的是迪斯尼的老將羅恩·克萊門特和約翰·默斯克。這兩人曾經多次成功合作，共同創作瞭眾多的精品。例如《阿拉丁》(Aladdin)、《大力士》(Hercules)、《小美人魚》(The Little Mermaid)等等，均被多次被列為“20部最值得推薦的兒童影片”。
　　在配音工作中不多見的是，《星銀島》的主角基姆·霍金斯有兩位配音演員，一位是演員約塞夫·高登·盧維特，負責對話部分的配音工作。另一位則是特意請來的著名搖滾樂隊——Goo Goo Dolls的主唱喬尼·瑞責茲尼克，專門為角色配唱。剛剛因《激情年代》獲得2002年東尼獎最佳舞臺劇男配角獎的，佈賴恩·莫瑞則將為片中的第一號反派——半人半機器的獨腳大盜斯爾維爾配音。英國老牌女星艾瑪·湯普森，則會為片中埃米莉(Amelia)船長配音。
　　至於影片配樂，將由為《恐龍》(Dinosaur)和《亞特蘭蒂斯·失落的帝國》(Atlantis: The Lost Empire)等片配樂的詹姆斯·牛頓·霍華德(James Newton Howard)所負責。
